THE TOP 10 STRONGEST CREATURES

Hi guys, B.K’s Blog brings to you this week’s edition of ‘The Amazing Creatures’ which is tagged, ‘The Top 10 Strongest Creatures. Enjoy! Counting down to the strongest, they are;

10) Eagle: The Eagles are the strongest birds and with their incredible strength, they are capable of lifting things four (4) times their body weight during flight. Eagles are known for hunting foxes, deers and wild cats. Eagles also symbolize power, freedom and transcendence.

 

 

 

9) Anaconda: The Anaconda is a type of snake found in tropical South America which is famous for its size and its ability to squeeze things the same size as its own 250kg body weight to death. Anacondas are members of the non-venomous constrictors and are able to grow up to and even more than a length of 30 feet (totally amazing). The name anaconda is derived from, “Eunectes”, which means, “a good swimmer”.

 

 

 

8) Grizzly Bear: The Grizzly Bear is among the most massive and powerful animals in the world and can reach a maximum height of 2.5 meters and can weigh up to 350 kg. When talking about pure strength, a Grizzly Bear can lift over 500kg which is proportional to 0.8 times its body weight. The jaws of the Grizzly Bear are powerful enough to bite through a cast iron skillet and to crush a bowling ball.

 

 

7) Ox: An Ox which has a body length of 2-2.3 meters and weighs up to 640 kg is strong enough to carry a weight of up to 800kg-900 kg across a rugged terrain.

 

 

 

6) Tiger: The Tiger is the strongest and largest member of the ‘Cat family’. The Siberian Tiger is the largest specie of Tigers and can grow between 75-91 inches (6ft 11 inches averagely) in length and weigh up to 306kg. A tiger can carry something weighing 550kg (almost twice its own body weight) 10 feet up a tree.

 

 

5) Gorilla: The Gorilla which is the largest Primate in the world is well known for its phenomenal strength. A Gorilla can reach a height of up to 1.75 meters and weigh up to 200kg. Gorillas are so strong that they can lift objects weighing as heavy as 2000kg (as heavy as 30 humans), about 10 times their body weight.

 

4) Elephant: The Elephant is the largest and strongest living land animal in the world and Elephants are divided into about 4 main species; The African bush Elephant and the Asian Elephant, the African forest Elephant and the Indian elephant. The African bush elephant is usually larger than the others and can grow up to 8-13 feet in height and weigh up to 7,000kg (almost 7 tons). In brute strength, the African bush Elephant is capable of carrying up to 9,000kg, the weight of about 130 adult humans.

 

 

3) Leafcutter Ant: The 2.1 long leaf cutter Ants, in terms of strength are one of the most incredible insects in the world. Even though the leaf cutter ants are very small in size, they great cross sectional area of muscles land can vibrate their jaws at a rate of 1000 times per second. Tiny leaf cutter ants can lift and carry in their jaws things 50 times their own body weight of about 50mg and this is the same as a human lifting a truck with his teeth.

 

 

2) Rhinoceros Beetle: The Rhinoceros Beetles which are the largest group of beetles in the world can reach a height of 6 inches and considering the amount of weight these insects can carry in relation to their size, these insects are rated the second strongest creatures on earth. Rhinoceros Beetles can lift things 850 times their own body weight. To put this into perspective, if an average sized human had the strength of a Rhinoceros Beetle, he would be able to lift a 65 ton (65,000kg) object. Also, if the mighty Elephant had the strength equal to that of the Rhinoceros Beetle, it would be able to carry 850 Elephants on its back (Totally awesome).

 

1) Dung Beetle: The half inch long “Dung Beetle” which is the number 1 on this list is not just the strongest insect but also the strongest living creature in proportion to size. The Dung Beetles develop their incredible strength through their unusual competition for mates. The Dung Beetles use their horns to fight with the potential rivals and these fights help the Dung Beetles to improve their strength. The Dung Beetle is capable of pulling objects/ things 1,141 times their own body weight and this is equivalent to an average person pulling six (6) double-decker buses full of people. That’s just mind blowing.
