The 30-day old strike over unpaid
salaries in Ondo state has been suspended by the organised labour after several
hours of rigorous negotiation.
The meeting reportedly took place at
the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Alagbaka Government office in Akure, the State’s
capital on Thursday and was said to have lasted for 12 hours between leaders of
the organised labour and the State Government before the decision was finally
made.
It was agreed that the workers being
owed would be paid. However, it will be a reduced amount from the actual debt.
The striking workers are expected to resume on Monday.
