The FGN has announced that the
Eid-il-fitr celebration formerly slated for Tuesday, 5th of July and
Wednesday, 6th of July has now been shifted to Wednesday, 6th
of July and Thursday, 7th of July.
This decision was made following the
directive of Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the President General of the Nigerian
Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs who stated that the Ramadan fast continues
today, Tuesday, 5th of July as a result of the non-sighting of the
moon.
