SWEDISH PLAYER GETS A RED CARD FOR FARTING ON THE PITCH

Adam Lindin Ljungkvist (25), a Swedish footballer was given a 2nd yellow card and a subsequent red card after passing wind during a match. Adam Lindin Ljungkvist who is a left back for Järna SK's reserve team was playing in a match against Pershagen SK when he gave the ‘Striking Trouser cough’. The act incited anger in the referee who then sent the player off the pitch.

The player told Länstidningen Södertälje that he had a bad stomach, so he simply let it go. He further said it’s the strangest thing he has ever experienced in football.

According to an opposition striker, Kristoffer Linde, “I was standing a good distance away but I heard the fart loud and clear. It’s the strangest thing I’ve seen on a pitch, and I’ve been playing football since I was eight years old.”

The referee, Dany Kako, described the act as “a deliberate provocation”. He claimed Adam Lindin Ljungkvist did it on purpose and it was inappropriate. Therefore, he received a 2nd yellow card. Dany Kako further stated that he once gave a player a yellow card for peeing by the field.

I don’t think Adam Lindin Ljungkvist will ever be forgotten after this….
