Gunmen believed to be members of
the Ijaw group involved in illegal bunkering that have been terrorising residents
of Imose, ado odo ota LGA in Ogun State and who in their last feat robbed all
and abducted 3 of the passengers being conveyed to the town by boat have
finally released the abducted victims.
The victims who were abducted
almost a week ago (6 days) were released early this morning and 1 of them was
said to have been shot while being held hostage. They were released after a
ransom of 500,000Naira was paid for the victims. 7million Naira was initially
demanded for each victim and after negotiations; it was reduced to 3 million
per victim then eventually, 500,000 Naira for the 3 victims. Residents hope
that appropriate Authorities will look into the matter and track down the criminals
engaged in these nefarious acts.
