The Senate President Bukola Saraki,
alongside his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and the former Clerk of the National Assembly
alongside his deputy also are to be arraigned before the Federal High Court
today, 21st of June, 2016 in Jabi, Abuja on charges of Conspiracy
and Forgery.
According to the charges, the
defendants were said to have conspired among themselves to forge the Senate
Standing Order on the 9th of June, 2015 which was used to conduct an
election in which Saraki and Ekweremadu emerged as winners. The offence is
punishable under section 97 of the Penal code law and rumour has it that a vote
of confidence would be passed on the Senate President and his deputy by other
senate members
